Red and Pink Roses

I was seeking an opportunity to shoot the roses--white, red, pink, in the garden of my college. But since in the working days it is full of students, I could not do so. But on the day of Muharram it was holiday and I visited the garden and captured these roses in the tender sunlight of the morning. The yellow rose interestingly turns white after some days. In the picture it has started becoming so.

Red Ixora

In Bengali this flower is called 'Rangan' which means painting; but the etymology may refer to the root 'rang' which means colour. Anyway this is macro shot of a red Ixora. So you may find greater details of the flowers.

Water Hyacinth of Bengal

Since childhood we are habituated to seeing this invasive species of aquatic plant, which came, we were told in school, from South America. People in Bengal generally do not think well of this because of its invasion and exploitation of aquatic resources. But this can be also used for bio-waste disposal.
